What goes into a frameless 90° project.

A 90° corner enclosure turns two adjacent walls into a single wrap of glass, which is the configuration most modern DFW master baths are laid out for: a square shower footprint with the door on one face and a fixed return on the other. The engineering challenge is the corner itself — the two panels have to meet in a clean, structurally bonded joint with no visible bracket, so the glass reads as one continuous plane rather than two sheets bolted together. We use ⅜″ tempered as the residential standard and step up to ½″ when a return panel runs tall or wide enough to want the extra rigidity. Concealed hinges and discreet clips carry the door; the fixed panels anchor into blocking we locate behind the tile during measurement, not into hollow substrate. Clear and Starphire low-iron are the usual picks, the latter earning its place where large-format porcelain or natural stone deserves to be seen in its true colour. Because a corner enclosure depends on both walls being close to plumb and the curb close to level — and North Texas framing rarely is — we template each panel to the real opening and scribe where needed, so it seals cleanly without an oversized silicone gap telegraphing through the tile.
