[ About custom mirrors ]
What goes into a custom mirrors project.
A custom mirror is measured, cut, edged and silvered to a specific opening — the opposite of a big-box sheet trimmed to fit. The work ranges from a single beveled piece over a vanity to a floor-to-ceiling mirrored wall in a gym or dressing room, and the finish is the first decision. Standard mirror is bright and neutral; low-iron removes the faint green for a colour-true reflection where accuracy matters; antiqued mirror is intentionally distressed for a decorative feature wall, bar or backsplash; and colour-backed glass in rose, smoke or bronze shifts the whole mood. Edges are polished, beveled or hand-honed, and where a wall exceeds a single sheet we plan the seams so the lines fall where they read as intentional. Gym mirrors are the demanding case — the plane has to be flat and distortion-free, mounted dead level on properly supported backing so your form reads true. We offer two adhesive systems plus clip mounting, chosen for the wall's construction and the mirror's weight, and confirm the backing during measurement. For homeowners the considerations are whether the wall is a working surface or a design statement, how much the reflection needs to be colour-accurate, and whether the substrate can carry a large piece. Every mirror is cut and finished in-house at the Carrollton shop, and we install across Dallas, Plano, Frisco and Richardson, from period baths to new fitness rooms.
