[ About fixed panels ]
What goes into a fixed panels project.
A fixed panel — sometimes called a splash panel or shower screen — is the minimalist end of the catalogue: a single stationary sheet of glass that shields the room from spray while leaving the shower fully open, with no door to swing and no track to step over. It's the right call for walk-in showers, wet rooms, and tub-shower combinations where a full enclosure isn't necessary or wanted, and it's the most affordable way into a frameless look. We build both stationary panels and operable configurations, anchoring the glass with a discreet header brace or floor-to-glass clips depending on the span and how much the panel needs to resist a nudge. Glass is ⅜″ or ½″ tempered — the thicker spec earns its place on taller or unsupported panels that want the extra rigidity — in clear or Starphire low-iron, with satin-frosted where privacy matters. The buying considerations are simpler than a full enclosure but still real: how far the panel needs to project to contain the spray, whether the floor is sloped to drain, and whether a bracing bar is acceptable or the panel should stand on hardware alone. We laser-measure the opening and fabricate at the Carrollton shop so the single sheet sits plumb with an even reveal against the tile. Fixed panels are a frequent choice in Carrollton, Arlington and Fort Worth, especially in curbless walk-in remodels.
